We are coming to Atlanta! We will be exhibiting our products at the Metropolitan Cooking & Entertaining Show April 30th and May 1st.

Tickets at the door are $25 but we have 7 FREE tickets and we would love to give them away to our Facebook Friends who will be in the Atlanta area this weekend.

Nancy, my wonderful manager, forgot Evelyn’s pacifier at home. So, she left Evelyn with me while she ran home. As soon, as she was out the door, I swapped out Evelyn’s look – off came the headband – on went the Crosby & Taylor cap.
Off came the silly toys – and on went the Pewter products – of course!
(I guess I should have made her unhappy with the toys and the headband….so you could see just how much happier she was after being transformed. But I would never want to make Evelyn unhappy! – even for a photo shoot.)

Mothers Are Never Out of Season!

Mother’s Day is just around the corner, Sunday May 8th! But we know full well that every day is a day to honor the mothers, grandmothers, step-mothers and other important women in our lives. Mothers are never out of season! Personally, I am blessed to have three wonderful daughters, one daughter-in-law, and two grandsons. Being a mother and a grandmother is pretty much the best thing ever!

Right now we are putting the final touches on our new Made for Mothers Collection. An important design element in this new collection actually comes from our Facebook Fans! Earlier this year, we asked them to submit names which they use for their moms and/or grandmothers. The response was amazing! Each person, whose name was incorporated into our new pieces, will be receiving a free set of Mother Measuring Cups (retail value $158)! These winners will be announced next week.

The entire Made for Mothers Collection will be available for order (just in time for Mothers Day) beginning next week and will consist of Measuring Spoon Sets, double-ended single Measuring Spoons, Measuring Cups, and a Spoon Rest. Nearly every day, we are asked by someone if he or she can obtain an replacement spoon or cup. The answer is always, “OF COURSE!” We would never want you to have an incomplete set.

If you lose or destroy one of your pieces, you can purchase replacements here. Even when we retire a design, we keep the mold so we can cast replacements.

If you damage one of your spoons (like in the disposal) or in the cup, you can recycle it with us. We will issue you a small credit, which can be used towards the purchase of a new one.

We like to think that we have amazing quality control but, like anyone else, we are not perfect! If you feel that your spoon or cup broke, due to a defect in the creation of it, please return it to us – with a letter of explanation – and we will replace it.

If you broke it yourself (Please be honest! Did you try to scoop out some rock-hard ice cream? oops! or some very hard brown sugar?) we hope you won’t blame us! Please do remember that pewter is a soft metal and our Measuring Spoons and Cups should never be used for anything that could bend them.

Kids Love Pewter Too!

We are running a special this month on our Tooth Fairy Kits.  I  just felt like new teeth represent new life and Spring to me; so I decided to feature this very special kit we have created just for the young (and the young at heart).

Here is the story behind our Tooth Fairy Kits:

When our middle daughter started losing teeth, she started a new tradition in our house. She would leave her tooth under her pillow along with a little note politely asking to 1) receive a little tooth fairy gift and 2) be able to keep her teeth. Amazingly enough, the Tooth Fairy always obliged! Thus began the tooth collection – which then led to the development of our Tooth Fairy Kits, of course!

Our Kits are quite involved so let me tell you about all of the components. But, before that, I must say that we hired a Canadian artist to draw the 3 fairies for us. For that reason, I can brag about how gorgeous our fairies are.

We have created three Tooth Fairy Kits to choose from: “Lily” who is named for our lovely neighbor;  ”Priscilla” named for my grandmother whose life ended the week my grandson’s began; and “Rosella” named for our youngest daughter.

Each kit includes:

• A keepsake box for each tooth
• A chart to record which tooth fell out, the date it fell out, and the fairy gift received
• A little booklet all about teeth
• A pouch to put under your pillow – connected to a coin that hangs out from the pillow so the fairy can easily tug on the ribbon and find the pouch – without disturbing your slumber
• A pouch with a very important parent coin – which you put on a parent’s pillow before you go to bed – so that, in the morning, he or she will remember to ask you what you got (or… shhhh!!…so the parent will actually remember to do what needs to be done that night – shhhhh!! our little secret!)

All in all, I do think it’s a pretty awesome kit.  These precious Tooth Fairy Kits usually retail for $65 but will be available for $49 during the month of April.

Here is my little secret…while I am really proud of our current line of products, I love our ongoing Studio Sale and get nostalgic each time I look through it!   I know it sounds crazy, but there are some real treasures in there!

Since we are always introducing new products, we frequently have to drop our older designs – which results in over-runs and discontinued items that are usually in perfect condition!  It’s just too inefficient to keep track of hundreds of molds and thousands of products. So, rather than wasting these beautiful pieces, we offer them at a significant discount to our customers.

But we also have something new and pretty cool in our sale. Our woodworker, who lives in a small town out in the Oregon woods, came across some old fencing that he was able to recycle into spoon and cup strips for us! Since he only has a limited amount of this, we have decided to offer them in our studio sale – rather than in our main collection.

The wood is medium to dark brown with a bit of silver shimmer. Needless to say, each piece is different. As our woodworker told us, “The silver, almost white, on the wood is NOT paint. I call it sun patina, similar to the sheen on driftwood. The extra holes in the wood are nail holes.”

We think that this vintage wood looks fabulous, when paired with pewter, and it’s also a great way to get a set of our Measuring Spoons and Cups at a great price!
